D&D 5E (2024) Dragon Delves Cover Revealed

At MagicCon: Chicago this last weekend, WotC revealed the cover art for July's Dragon Delves hardcover.

Two covers were revealed--the regular cover by Greg Staples, and the alternative cover by Justine Jones.

Dragon Delves, coming out July 8th, is an anthology of 10 dragon-themed D&D adventures ranging from levels 1-12. Each adventure features a different type of dragon.

It was kind of them to release that on my birthday. Looks like I'm getting a nifty present this year.

I hope it works well with Dragonlance.

As I said on another thread, that alt cover wouldn't look out of place on the wall of a '70s/'80s dorm room.

I find neither of these covers appealing. I hope the adventures are fun (and I hope they will be usable in Eberron, with its more hands-off approach to dragons).

Kind of the opposite for me: maybe the first time when I don't have an immediate favorite! Amanda Hammon seems to be the lead here, same as Golden Keys, so hopefully pretty similar to that in quality and utility.

Not going to lie, I kind of love the Lisa Frank-style alternate cover. I'll need to see more previews of the book before I know whether I'm going to pick it up, though.

I am with @pukunui here, neither of these is really inspiring for me. If forced to choose (and I likely will since I generally like the adventure compilations WotC has produced), then the standard cover is more to my liking, even if it is not a great favourite.

I think I would be OK with the standard cover if it just had the red dragon, but the other dragons make it look tacky to me. I like the bottom part a lot.

I wish I found the default cover inspiring but it just reminds me of generic fantasy posters you can find at Walmart.

It does give off Three Wolf Moon vibe, but worse.
