Dragon Disciple: good for a Duskblade?

I don't think there is a 'good' dragon shamon combo. I also tossed around the idea of dragon shamon 3, bard 2. I think you have about 2 first level spells known.... Make them swift something and truestrike?

True Strike - not a bard spell.

Maybe...

Well the only build i see dominating the field with this is a combination of spellsword dusk blade and dragon disciple for the fact that high attribute bonus and you get acceptional spell abilities that can be channeled through you weapon. If you want to take it even farther add in warshaper and get more attribute fast healing and the ability to enhance your claws and bite

Oh be nice. The guy wants to talk about Dragon Disciples, let's talk about Dragon Disciples. Easier to use an existing thread than start a new one.

Let's talk about Dragon Disciples.

The prestige class is outclassed by better options, and the necromancer is wrong in his assertion that a Dragon Disciple/Spell Sword is a good build. Adding Warshaper makes it better, but then why not skip past the suck and go straight to Warshaper?

Also, he has grammar issues.

I don't think there are better options that do what the Dragon Disciple does. If you just look at the class and what it does mechancially then maybe but that's not what the class does in a game.

Yes there are.

If you just look at the class and what it does mechancially then maybe
Then definitely.
but that's not what the class does in a game.
Yes it is what the class does in a game. The mechanics of a class dictate what the class is able to do in a game. The Dragon Disciple is a weak prestige class which has certain niche uses but that's about it.

You do good job of just disagreeing. But without any counter examples of presitge classes that do what a Dragon Disciple does your post is not constructive to the conversation. Granted I don't have all the books, but I can't recall any prestige class that bascially makes a character into a half dragon.

No I don't.

Abjurant Champion for combat.

I concede the point. There are no prestige classes that are better in the narrow field of making a character into a half dragon. For that specific purpose, the Dragon Disciple is infinitely superior to all other prestige classes.

But if you want a mechanically strong prestige class, look elsewhere*.

Incidentally, by becoming a half dragon, you disqualify yourself for the prestige class. Have fun with that.

* Sand Shaper (dip), Spellsword (dip), Abjurant Champion, Kord's Champion, Wild Mage, Ur Priest + Mystic Theurge, Initiate of the Sevenfold Veil, Warmind, Wyrm Wizard... 2 levels of Dragon Disciple are probably ok for the extra attacks you can get from the natural weapons, but that's about it for useful stuff.
