Dragon Dungeon Little Nitpick. :)

I run into more corporate firewalls that block .zip files than .pdf files. The Kinko's network is like this.

I agree with the OP. When I download, I hate having a useless "widow" file that I have to remember to delete afterwards.

Oh, aside from the corporate firewalls that block .pdfs? Or the difficulty in getting a browser to properly display the .pdf if you happen to have both Acrobat installed, instead of Acrobat Reader? Or the download managers that sometimes choke over .pdfs? I'd rather have them zipped, myself.
I recommend that every human on the planet immediately:
open Adobe Reader
Go to Edit | Prefrences
Go to Internet
Uncheck Display PDF in Browser

It makes life so much more convient.

Oh, and I agree: zipping a pdf is pointless and irritating.

I agree. I hate how they put every little pdf in a zip file. No problem with putting file collections into zip files, but a single pdf?

screw that, it makes more sense for them, too: I imagine they'll want to do some sort of watermarking to trap those who'd otherwise be saying "Arhar, me mateys" a lot...
... and it's a lot easier to do that to a pdf and just stream that across, than it is to do it to a pdf, zip it, and stream that across.

Paizo's personalised PDFs come in zip files, so it seems to be possible to do it. Still, unless they break apart the new dragon/dungon (the way the first Pathfinder was broken apart at first - you can get a single pdf now, but the split-up part is still an option), I'd prefer pdf downloads to zip downloads.

Thank you everyone that agrees with me. The rest of you simply need to re-examine the issue, and then realize I am right. As per usual. :)

I don't mind the zip file for multi file downloads... Although I wouldn't mind it if even the multi downloads came as individual pdfs.

Interesting. I'll have to try that :)
But I guess, I'll still prefer downloading the pdf before opening it...
