DRAGON Mag Exotic Weapons (Was: Elven Thinblade?)

OK, here's a really dumb question. Is there such a thing as an elven thinblade? And in what supplement might it be found? I''m kicking around NPC ideas, and that phrase sticks in my mind, and I want to find stats for it.

If it even exists outside my fevered, work-fried mind.

Heard of it, not sure where though. If you wanted you could just make it a special elven version of a rapier. Same stats and everything, but looks slightly different. Basically, change the flavor text of the rules for rapier to fit your need.

It is in an early edition of 3e Dragon, basically and exotic weapon rapier which does a base 1d8 instead of 1d6. Can't recall whether or not the article said it was supposed to be finessable.

Cheers

Thanks, guys! It was the "finessability" that stuck in my mind. I'll look it up when I get home. Thanks again!

The d6 doesn't bother me. If you're out for damage, you'll have high strength. And then the higher crit threat range will really kick in against a weapon like the longsword. I don't know whether I'd pay a feat just to get an average 1.x points of damage more. I'd take the Exotic Weapon Proficiency for style, though.

People seem to think it's worth it for bastard sword or dwarven waraxe over the non-exotic counterparts of those. *shrug*. Personal taste... also, if you're a fighter, you might as well, not like you're going to run out of feats or anything :)
