DRAGON Mag Exotic Weapons (Was: Elven Thinblade?)

Quarterstaff/bo-stick

The description does not state you can use weapon finesse with it, and I don't know of any errata or clarifications that say otherwise.

What kind? Doesn't really matter though. Either short or long, see first answer.

Two-Bladed Sword

See first answer.

Spiked Chain (which has already been mentioned)

Yup.

and similiar weapons.

None of those you listed are similar. AFAIK, none of them can be finessed.

If I was going to allow the Crescent Blade, I'd rule that the "one attack-multiple hits" deal works the same way as shuriken. Precision damage is applied only once per attack roll, which includes Sneak Attacks.

This is, IMO, the only sane way to rule it.

Yeah, KaeYoss and myself thought that was definately a good way to handle it as well.

I get the feeling he might have been referring to how the weapons are used in real life, as opposed to game mechanics...

Possibly, but that would just be confusing if that were the case.

Ah, I think you misunderstood my meaning, of course I may have misunderstood your initial statement as well.

I wasn't inferring that those weapons (with the exception of the Spiked Chain) were finessable per the rules, only that an argument could be made for why they could/should be.

Your initial statement sounded like you couldn't think of any two-handed weapons that could potentially be finessed, but I guess that wasn't it at all.

Ah, well. Pardon me, but I must return to the Asylum before they realize the medication wore off. Damn, those leather straps are tough... :D

You pretty much have it. Aside from the spiked chain, I can't think of any two-handed weapons that can be finessed according to the rules.

In a game I play in, we altered Weapon Finesse so it applies to all weapons you could think of as a "precision weapon", and also you only have to take it once. But that's a house rule.

Yeah the light weapon thing makes it a nice and simple rule, with a couple exceptions. Unfortunatley simple doesn't always work with people opinions on how things should work given there(IRL) experiences. I know a lot of people who were baffled by staves not being on the list for example. I personally would of perfered a list, these weapons here can be finessed.(if we add a wepaon we'll mention if it can be finessed.

Weapons with a high crit threat range which are no two-handed weapon for you sounds fine. So the greatsword or the falchion are out, the dwarven waraxe also, but longsword is in, maybe even bastard sword (katana surely is), and double weapons are a one-handed-and-a-light weapon, anyway.
