Dragonborn Tail Feat

KKDragonLord

First Post
nspired by the possibility of a future dragonborn wings feat and based on the tail slash ability from dragons i decided to create this feat to allow dragonborn to have functional tails.

Dragonborn Tail
Prerequisite: Dragonborn, this feat must be chosen at character creation.
(or not, i don't know, considering that its likely that there will be a dragonborn wings feat it may use some sort of evolution mechanic)

The dragonborn has a tail with spikes to attack his careless foes.

Tail Slash
Immediate reaction *At-will
When an adjacent enemy misses an attack against the dragonborn in combat the dragonborn may make a Str attack roll versus AC and deal 1dmg+1/2str modifier damage on a hit.
On a Critical the enemy is made prone if Large or smaller.
(The tail is considered a natural weapon and as such it has a +3 accuracy bonus to hit)
At level 11 the damage increases to 1+str mod and at level 21 it deals 4+str mod

The tail grants a +1 bonus to athletics rolls made for swimming.

I like it, but it feels way to powerful for an at-will.

Make it an encounter and boost it a bit. Something like.

Encounter
Immediate reaction
Str damage and target is knocked prone
no attack roll required
upgrades to 2xstr and 3xstr at higher tiers.

I dont know, i think its okay, it requires an attack vs AC roll, it cant be improved throught the use of magic equipment, so at higher levels it wont matter as much. its an immediate reaction so it can only be used once per round and its only effective if the dragonborn doesnt already have some other better imeddiate reaction available and its just a cool thing they can do in combat because the have a tail. So really, i think its fine as is.
