This epic war story begins with an invitation to a friend's funeral and three optional prelude encounters that guide you into the world of Krynn. Amy Dallen is joined by Eugenio Vargas to share some details about how these opening preludes work and some advice on using them in your own D&D games.

There is also information on the three short 'prelude' adventures which introduce players to the world of Krynn:
  • Eye in the Sky -- ideal for sorcerers, warlocks, wizards, or others seeking to become members of the Mages of High Sorcery.
  • Broken Silence -- ideal for clerics, druids, paladins, and other characters with god-given powers.
  • Scales of War -- ideal for any character and reveals the mysterious draconians.
The article discusses Session Zero for the campaign and outlines what to expect in a Dragonlance game -- war, death, refugees, and so on.

The Majority of Black Robes will still be evil. I just don't want it to be a group that can only have evil members.
I do. It's not about what you choose. Rather it's about how you act. If you act evil, then regardless of your beliefs of reasons you are a black robe. If you behave in a way that would be considered good, then you are a white robe. If you uphold the magical balance and don't overly support good or evil in your actions, you would be red robed.

Or the way they are presenting it that makes more sense, White Robes are those who want to make the world a better place, Red are those who want to preserve the balance of all things, and Black are those that want to focus amassing power for themselves and their own ambitions. Good, Evil, and Neutral will gravitate towards the traditional colors, but there is room for those who would buck trends. A White Robe's whose ideas or methods for a better world are sickening, and an ambitious black robe with a heart of gold.

That isn't how Dragonlance was set up, though. The moons are good magic, neutral magic and evil magic, not make the world a better place magic, balance magic and power for yourself magic. The moons you draw magic from are based on good, balance, and evil.

I get what you are saying, but an order like that is better placed on Greyhawk, FR or Eberron, where the magic moons aren't around to dictate how things go.
