I think Sutherland is a very decent choice for Raistlin. From a business perspective, I don't think he's an extremely expensive actor (that, in my prediction, will change drastically one day), and judging from some of his motion pictures endeavors, his voice can capture some of them mysteriousness that Raistlin commands.

Watch PHONE BOOTH (2002) if you want an example of how powerful his mere voice can be.
