INFIDEL!!!

How dare one such as you question the quality of the Dragon Empire's first publication on Terra!

But seriously, I love the book. In the word's of Bill & Ted, it is "most triumphant!"

My two cents.

Weel, it's the current game of choice in my group for those sessions when not everyone can make it. weve played four sessions so far, and it's been a big hit. The vehicle combat rules are good, but a little dogfight with four intercepters can take forever with low level characters and high speed spacecraft.
It helps that we don't take ourselves too seriously I think. For example, one of the characters is a rogue 1 / psion (telepath) 1, with the name "Bester" and a slight russian accent.

Two things I would have liked to have known before I picked up Dragonstar:

* Characters should probably start out at 3rd level to keep from getting killed from the firearms.

* There is only eight pages of setting material. The rest will be published in the forthcoming Galaxy Guide

It's a good book (I gave it a 7/10) but it is not, as of yet, truly complete. Full review on my site is here: http://redqueendesign.com/surroundinglands/misc.html

Dragonstar is a very good book, it gives a base of what new techs there are for your campagin setting. I like the idea of Robots myself, I plan to find a way to use this in my D&D game, should be funny to see how my players react to a "lightning gun" or even a Robot.

Although they might mistake them for common golems and some nut with a rod of lightning bolts. But that is half the fun.

It's a very very good rule book (with a superb vehicle combat system), and it shows glimpses of a superb setting.

I love it.
