Draw Steel General Thread [+]

I’m curious what the bundle pricing will look like. If it’s like $20 for additional licenses, I paid more then that total to support my table in a year of Roll20 D&D play and got a product that was endlessly frustrating.
Speculative pricing from devs on the Discord are around US$100 for 5 key "party pack". So yeah, it's around your price point.

Yeah that'd be a dead in the water issue for most GMs.

GMs have a pain of a time just convincing players to show up for anything other than their system of choice. And that's when you have a regular group.

I can't imagine listing a game online somewhere and saying "My game is 'free/paid' - plus you need to buy access to the VTT from this place, just to log into the game I am hosting"
- At present there's not enough content to make a GM want to switch off Foundry, roll20, Owlbear, whatever. But if they start doing exclusive content on their VTT that's going to be a tough sell for both paid and free GMs.

MCDM seems to have a good relationship with the folks that work on the Draw Steel Foundry module and Premium content (they’ve been making MCDM premium modules for Foundry for awhile, like the Flee Mortals module) so I’m not super worried MCDM is going to suddenly cut off the relationship with them. I even saw a stream that James Introcaso did where the developers of the Foundry module showed off the premium modules to him. I know Matt has also talked about/promoted the Draw Steel Foundry module before.

I image MCDM understands that there’s a lot of RPG fans that want to stick with the VTT of their choice and limiting Draw Steel to only their VTT is a bad idea. And who knows, maybe Codex won’t really work out financially and they’ll still obviously want a way for people to play online.
