Drinking Game

You are given a D&D rulebook* and a Sharpie(R)-brand permanent marker.

You are told to start crossing out the book a word at a time. You must stop when what is left is no longer D&D.

When do you stop crossing things out? At what point does what is left stop being D&D?

When do you take a drink?

* Regardless of edition: original booklets/BECMI/Rules Cyclopedia/1st, 2nd, 3.x, or 4E PHDMGMM. At the core of all of these is some essence that is "Dungeons and Dragons". What is that essence?

At the point when such random words as are left make no sense at all, even after numerous drinks.

The assumption you make, and it's quite possibly incorrect, is that the essence of the game in fact has its lair in a rulebook.

What exactly *is* DnD is probably something very hard to explain. It's like art, you know it when you see it.

I don't believe 4th edition is DnD, but that doesn't matter. The question is moot. The question you should be asking is "Do I get enough bang for my buck? Am I having fun with this?"

If you are, then who gives a rats ass if its DnD or not. You're having fun.
