Wrong on all points.
Every DMG rule I listed proves mine.
And get some glasses if you can't read.

Whatever. Every DMG rule you have listed only applies to characters created above 1st level.

And you should get a calculator.

It's very simple calculation this one, here is an example:

OK, apparently it is not sinking in, so I will use an example of an already created 5th level elven wizard (I’ve already proven myself with a character created above 1st level, citing appropriate rulings in the DMG).

My particular wizard happens to have exactly 14,999xp, just one xp shy of making 6th level. The party has stopped in a sizable city with a fair amount of recources. This wizard has about 1,000gp in standard equipment and minor magic items, plus 8,000gp for a total of 9,000gp, which matches exactly Table 5-1: Character Wealth by Level.
So………this wizard has 4,999xp and 8,000gp to spend Crafting Wondrous Items, one of his Feats. While in town, he plans on making Boots of Elvenkind, actually more than one pair, actually as many pairs as he can, because he can (see Character Created Magic Items DMG p.43 top left).
This wizard decides to spend 7,000gp of his 8,000gp to make as many boots as he can, which is 7 pair.

Boots of Elvenkind (market value 2000gp) x 7 pair = 14,000gp

Nothing in the DMG sais I can’t do this, so I have to assume I can do this. IF I COULD NOT DO THIS, IT WOULD SAY SO.

Now I have 7 pair of Boots of Elvenkind valued at 14,000gp + 1,000gp of gear originally + 1,000gp left =

16,000gp

Benefits of Creating these Items: You can increase your wealth above and beyond other characters(Like a Job!!!!!) making magic items.

Penalties: You had to use that extra Feat (that other characters would have used for YOUR typical hack n’ slash dungeon crawl campaign) to do so + you didn’t make a level like the rest of the party did + you spent time (like a 40hr a week JOB!!!!!!) to do so.

If there is some Force that mysteriously limits spellcasters from making items to increase their wealth beyond the normal, I would like to see the RULING. So, in your campaign, my wizard begins to mysteriously feel queezy and shaky when he makes that 2nd or 3rd pair of Boots (oh no, he is passing his limit in gp value!!!). He starts to vomit, an lo and behold, some random Rogue steels his raw materials, or his gold, or lightning strikes him for damage, and, umm, umm, he also fails a Ref save, and looses, um, um, all of the gold he needed to make them, mhuhahahahahahahaha!!!!!!

So, get out your glasses AND your calculators AND your DMG, and quit saying that Core Rules are House Rules.

If you want to limit the value of Character Created magic items, then go ahead. You could House Rule that Characters are adventurers and do not make magic items as a profession, thus they are only able to sell their created magic items at half their value. This would be a house rule, not a DMG rule.

That is the lamest and most implausable argument you could possibly present. It ranks right up there with "Not now, honey. I have a headache."

Nope. :D

Nope. :D

So Why is it lame? You STILL haven't proved me wrong, or proved you right using ANY rule in the DMG.

Read DMG, page 43, again my friend.

I'll quote: "Table 2-24 shows the total value of a character's gear at a given level."

That includes equipment you make yourself.

If you decide to make your own gear after you start playing, then that's okay, but I'm not sure a DM would generally allow you to sit around 40 weeks without you been robed or something.

Please do one or all of following things:

1) Buy a calculator
2) Get a refund of your college intuition
3) Grow up
4) Bite me

EDIT: Please read the above as me getting really really tired of saying the same thing over and over.

I proved that the only rules you have quoted pertain only to creating characters above 1st level. You have failed to prove otherwise.

And in case you hadn't noticed, I quoted a passage in the DMG that very nearly caused me to concede to your viewpoint. But I guess you didn't catch that.

Wow, reading DMG p.43 again (and again and again)….still not working for you and the passage you quoted has nothing to do with my points.

Read “Character-Created Magic Items” again, my friend.
How do the two correlate? Where does it say you apply the full market value of magic items made against Wealth? Nowhere.
Now, once again, read “Character Wealth” above table 5-1: Character Wealth by Level”
This table is based on average treasures FOUND/FOUND/FOUND, not made.
And if a DM wouldn’t let me sit around for 40 weeks to create whatever magic items I wanted (not that I would need that much time to at least exceed my Character Wealth by Level limit) then that would be his decision, and not a ruling. I would damn well expect a reason for not allowing me to follow the rules. A good answer would be because it would slow the campaign down. FINE. But that wasn’t my point behind my previous posts.

Do ALL of the following, sense you’re getting personal.

1. Learn how to do simple math WITHOUT a calculator.
2. Learn how to REMEMBER what you’ve read before and apply it to what you are reading now.
3. Don’t bother growing up….it won’t happen for you.
4. Watch as I have to stoop to your level (which I don’t mind) and say “BITE ME BACK”

No they don't

I don't care wether or not you buy my viewpoints, as long as if your's differ you can prove it with fact.
