Dropout has released the ruleset for Never Stop Blowing Up, the rules system used in the recent action-themed season of Dimension 20. The new ruleset, which is a variant of Kids on Bikes, is now available on the Dropout webstore for free. The game system is designed to play through an action movie-style story in which the action sequences become increasingly more outlandish.
The download is only 4 pages and explains the basic concepts of the game to readers. Players have 9 stats, each of which is represented by a d4 to start. When a player makes a check, they roll the dice used for a specific stat. If a player rolls the maximum number on their stat's dice, it "blows up" and permanently increases in size (i.e., a d4 blows up into a d6). When players fail a check, they gain a turbo token that can be spent to increase their roll or can be spent to add abilities. Turbo tokens can also be spent on a group suite of abilities that impact other players. A group suite token can be unlocked individually or by the entire group.
No designers were listed for Never Stop Blowing Up, but the original Kids on Bikes system was designed by Jonathan Gilmour and Doug Levandowski.
