Drow and an Archdevil previews

Zariel a CR 26 foe?!? Holy Cow! I mean, since Avernus is the layer most likely to come under attack by outside forces, it kind of makes sense to have the boss be a major bad-ass, but still! If SHE'S that tough, how much tougher must ASMODEUS be!!! And what about the other Ruling Lords of the Nine, such as Mephistopeles, Dispater, etc?

If Asmodeus is still a God, then he's beyond stats.

So, we get the wrapping up tables for Elves on 64, for Dwarves on 84, and for Gnomes on 114; this is after the final section on Demons in the Blood War chapter beginning on page 34, and likely being 2-3 pages based on the corresponding Devil section. Racial stats for Gith start on 96, while the Halfling/Gnome chapter begins on 99.

Moloch is in the Devil section on 176-177, whereas we now know we get Drow variants on page 184-185.
It's funny, but with already a large number of Bestiary chapter previews, we still haven't seen anything past the "D" section or page 185!

I would suppose that the largest sections, by far, are "Demon" and "Devil," so that's not too surprising given that they are just ramping up the preview game for the general release. I suspect we have some poat-beastiary surprises, too.

We can come back to this, but it's my personal prediction that Asmodeus won't be statted and that Mephistopheles will be the highest CR statblock in the book.

Her mental saving throws are good. Really difficult to control her. Maybe her +9 Con save with resitance is her only "hole" in the defenses... I don´t want to face her even at level 20. She seems to be quite able...

It's hardly a surprise, true. But it would be nice to see something post-"D"! Granted, the only remaining creatures that the main text focuses on that are after that letter would be the Eladrin and the Gith, so we're still going to be front-loaded near the front of the alphabet The Yugoloths, really, are the only big group of late alphabet creatures we know of that will be somewhat featured - it would be really nice to get a preview of one of those, not only interesting in itself, but as it would also give a good idea if the Bestiary continues to the end of the book...
