Drow as Dragonstar thugs! bah!! :)

I understand that Dragonstar is a fun "wahoo" setting, but I can't get my head around the Drow leaving thier arrogance behind to work for anyone other than themsleves and their spider goddess.

I've wondered why FFG didn't have Big Red pick the Yuan-Ti, Nagas, or even lizard men. Heck even Formian make more sense (stops self from making a comment about ants and fire)

I wonder what the advantages would be if Big Red had picked another race to be his storm troopers.

Drow really are not storm troopers in Dragonstar but the secret police. I do think they have their own plans.:)

i agree with Hand of Evil, i think the drow are meant to be much more like Nazi SS. when they show up, you KNOW you're in trouble!

on the other hand (:D ), if you're going to run a DS game, there's no reason not to include some type of Dragon Empire storm trooper; lizardfolk or yuan-ti. you could also use a race that traditionally has a high birth rate (easily replaceable troops) as the Empire's grunts; orcs, goblins, etc.

Check out all the info on drow. They mistrust the dragons as much as any one. Have loyalty only to their clans/house. They work for the Empire because it suits their plans. Not because of any loyalty.

This info is spread out in lots of little spaces. Such as the drow attitude to halfdragons. You just have to read both books with an eye out on the tiny hints drope here and there.
