Druid: improved grap and more

I'm playing an elf druid in 3.0 and I have two questions:

1) I have the Natural Spell Feat from MotW. Can I cast spells while flying?
2) How does Improved Grap work for a brown bear? Please explain it to me!
I have no idea how many attempts I have and with which penalty and so on.

It depends.

As a bird, you have a minimum flying speed, so you have to spend a move action each round flying. Summon spells, and other spells that have 1 round casting times, have to be cast over two rounds.

But other than that, you're fine.
