Druid vs. Druid

Perhaps, perhaps not. The fact is that I was merely attempting to be brief in the background because it's not pertinent. She does not "own" the trees, land, or anything else there, but she most certainly is the one in charge of the forest and responsible for its well-being. She also is the one who essentially "created" it, but I'm not getting into that story here.

No, just with your understanding of it because you jumped to conclusions.

Enkhidu, I agree that evil is not necessary. CN would probably be best since the PC is LN.

Thanks all for the suggestions. There are so many, I need to mull them over. :)

Reasons for a druid to want to interfere with this (small forest):

1. It was 'grown' quickly, unnaturally quickly perhaps. The trees are still real and all, but more than a few are from feather tokens and the rest are from a wish and other extraplanar help.

2. It is located in a formerly very evil area, a ghost town. She never really did do a thorough job checking on the supernatural in the area, if you know what I mean (wink, wink).

3. It's a hop, skip, and a jump (almost visual distance) from the Temple of Elemental Evil. Yes, that Temple.

The blighter idea fits into almost any of the three. The ghost treant is comfortably in #2. I'm not particularly fond of the honorable druid fight to gain ranks. The druid alienist sounds neat and fits in well with #1 or even #3.

Hmm, maybe all of the above. Do you think she'll feel the pressure (besides being 8 months pregant that is)?

Whoa! Hold on righ there, Nancy! -- the druid HAS her OWN forest?!

No druid worth her mistletoe would ever claim to OWN a part of nature.

Just a suggestion, but perhaps using an enemy druid that represents Driddle's point of view would make a memorable encounter for the druid in your campaign.

Since, as you said, there isnt a one size fits all for druids, then it is possible for your druid to come into contact with a more hard core neutral druid who despises your player's character for his/her apparent (whether accurate or not) ownership of the woods.

The enemy druid could work covertly, convincing the animals, plants and fey in the forest to turn against the other druid?

Just a thought.

Planar Druids.

A LN Druid From Mechanus for example. Same Alignment. One really wacked way of thinking how a Forest Should Look.

Maybe a CN Slaad Druid From Limbo. One who is just mutates the Forest all over the place cause "Chaos (Limbo) IS Nature."

Anything with Druid Levels from the Plane of Fire could really do some damage.

Perhaps an Elven Ghost/Lich/Really, Really, Really Old Druid has come back to "Restore the Forest to it's Proper State". If this was several thousand year ago; Step 1 might involve destroying the 'New Growth' to make way for the Orginal Trees and Animals (Might I recommend the Dinosaur Entry in the MM?)

Not really anything on the druid itself- but having an advanced couple of these may be cool.

One of Rich Burlew's cooler monster creations- if I say so myself...

I had a vampire druid in a campaign once **Sunless citadel Spoiler!**
(Belak, from the sunless citadel- after the gulthias tree 'recreated' him)

That may be a cool tact- the vampire druid wants to 'kill' the forest, and make it an undead fauna paradise or some such.... complete with skeleton dire bears and zombie dinosaurs...
