Druid wild shape

As I just learned the wild shape ability from a druid now comes from the "alternate form" special ability from the monster manual (not from polymorph).

There you can read:
> The creature retains the type and subtype of its original form.
> It gains the size of its new form

So if I understand this right, a druid stays type "humanoid" after changing into a wolf. So a potion of enlarge person would still enlarge the wolf to a large wolf? And a dire ape would get huge, wouldn't he?
Is this correct? Or is it overwritten somewhere in the druid wild shape description?

Yes, you retain your type and subtype, meaning a humanoid druid remain humanoid while wild shaped, and hence can be affected by Enlarge Person (or in this case, really, animal). Note that while it says 'It gains the size of the new form' you still have to be the right level to be able to wild shape into Large or Huge animals.

Another concern is that some DMs read the warning that multiple effects that increase size don't stack to include wild shaping into a large + animal and don't allow use of size increasing magic on larger than medium wild shapers.
