Druids and metalls

*nod* I was going to suggest bone also, but looks like AuraSeer beat me to it. Horn would be another option, as well.

Our fix is that according to Forgotten Realms, druids who choose Meilikki as their patron are allowed to use any weapon or armor allowed to rangers.

There are also other armor that function like studded leather (same AC bonus) but use other materials.

Quintessential Druid has Dire Leather Armor (Leather Armor stats with a +3 AC bonus)
Plus there is a bone studded leather armor (might be the same book, I can't remember).

Keep in mind that a druid's relatively low armor class is a balancing feature of the class; if you allow them to wear better armor, make sure it's fairly expensive. (A druid I played for a long time had a suit of dragonhide armor, which was one of his major pieces of treasure).

Keep in mind that while Mielikki *allows* her druids to use those weapons and armor, she doesn't grant them *proficiency* with them.

Although I have to say that it doesn´t make much sense to me but my player will be happy and that´s what counts at the end of the day. ;)
There is a lot of stuff in D&D that doesn't make sense from a logical perspective, but which can easily be justified by saying to yourself, "Hey, it's religion; it doesn't have to be logical." This is particularly easy in this case, since the rules for druids specifically mention "oaths," but it works for many other things.

(For example, poison. There's very little logic in saying that choosing to use poison is inherently evil, yet by the rules it's true. So I just chalk it up to religion, in one way or another, and move on.)

And yet, it mentions in the Expanded Psionics Handbook that Druids can't wear Crystal armour.

Seems really silly to me. In my home game I justified it by ruling that Druids and Rangers could only wear armour that at some point had been alive (ie, all the PHB armour they can wear), otherwise they suffered from Telluric spell failure (equal to ASF chance +20) as their armour was unable to channel the Ley energy that they tap into to cast spells.

So none of that stupid Stone armour from Races of Stone either, but I also introduced Truemetal, which you can occaisonaly dig out of really big Earth Elementals (as in Elder, Monoliths and Primal Elementals).
