Druids and Wood Weapons

core rules do state that you can fight with any weapon that is wooden and has ironwood cast on it. I have a druid that used an ironwood bastard sword which was a +1 weapon.

True, ironwood provides a specific exception. Weapons made of ironwood may are "freely usable" by druids according to the spell. So the elven druid in question could use an ironwood bow.

Also Ironwood was clarified to mean only Armor. Druids are still restricted to their weapon list even if they're proficient in other weapons.

No, it wasn't. I just checked the phb clarifications, corrections, along with the faq. No such clarification is in existance - or perhaps you'd like to supply the reference?

Correction. It was Jonathan Tweet and not Skip.

And I know people will whine that it isn't official but then every munchkin wants their cake, eat it too, and still have left overs.
