RuneQuest Ducks were a very cool race. I never met anyone that played a duck that didn't have an attitude within minutes of beginning play. The Chaos taint, I suppose.

You should be more worried about them hitting you with their wings. I've heard that swans can break your arm.

That has to be terrible for the swan.. birds have light, hollow bones that circulate air through their bodies. It'd be like ramming an oak door with a balsa tree.

Hollow does not mean weak or brittle. The stresses of flight are considerable, but their bones hold up well. And the bones in your forearm aren't exactly huge, you know...

I would go with raven stats, take away the attack and speaking, and give it a swim speed and bonus on swim skill.

Toads have no attack so there is precedent for non-attacking familiars.
