Duelist PrC (revised version)

I think none of my PrCs have more than 9 levels (ok, I double checked three are 10 levels). I don't believe in stretching them out past usefulness - esp. when you get more variety in the types of people in a PrC when they have to try to continue to improve along some other track.
Just do what our group does - all PrCs are capped at max level. There are no "epic progressions" - once you top out, you have to take levels in something else.

I don't think Offhand Defense would work in combination with Weapon Finesse. Just FYI. So it'd be rather worthless to any Duelist who plans to rely on Dex for attack rolls by using the Weapon Finesse feat that they needed to qualify in the first place.
Ooh.. I never saw that line about "If you carry a shield, its armor check penalty applies to you attack rolls." But, it's only -1 (no Duelist is going to carry a heavy shield), so it's not exactly worthless. Like I said before, though, I might just drop this entirely and go with Combat Expertise.

In the SRD it's gained at 5th level, which gives it +1 over standard. When I made the comment, it was +3 over.
If the SRD says 5th, it's wrong - it's 7th. LIke I said, I took it straight from the Duelist PrC, unchanged - wording and level. But, that's a moot point now, since I dropped it to 5th and made the bonus half class level.

I'd change enhanced mobility. Most characters with tumble just make tumble checks to avoid the AoO anyway. I'd allow the character to tumble and climb faster with less penalties instead.l

Yeah, that is a pretty useless ability. I had one called Acrobatics, where it added +2 to Balance, Jump and Tumble (it would have been ovelapped by Improved Acrobatics at L4), but I dropped that because there wasn't any point in having two such abilities. I could move Improved Acrobatics down to L1 and give them that feat from PHB II that grants two attacks when using Spring Attack. I'd like to keep this OGC, though, since it'll be going up on our site when it's finished.

Edit: After looking this thing over a bit, I decided to drop that ability. I moved Imp Acrobatics up, and tossed in Spring Attack (the normal one, not the improved version) as a bonus feat, because they'd be able to qualify for it by 4th level anyway. I'm not sure about replacing Elaborate Parry with Combat Expertise - since they stack, a 10th level Duelist fighting defensively could gain 5 (EP) + 5 (CE) + 2 (defensive fighting) = +12 to AC, which is really handy for someone in light armor. This is balanced by the fact that you have a -9 to all attacks, but if you're that bad off that you need the AC bonus, chances are you're more interested in saving your own hide than killing the other guy. Any comments?

The shield bit in Weapon Finesse doesn't really apply to your offhand defense thing, since it's not actually a shield.

What I was getting at was the restriction of WFin applying only when you hold nothing in the off-hand.....but I forgot that's an artifact of 3.0, not part of the 3.5 version of Weapon Finesse. Wierd.
