Duelist's Precise Strike and Criticals

phadian

First Post
When a critical is rolled when a Duelist makes and attack with his/her Precise Strike ability, are the extra d6's granted by the ability also multiplied in the critical damage, in addition to the regular weapon damage?

Also, imagine the same question, except for any weapon with an energy effect, like flaming. Is the extra fire damage multiplied into the critical?

Thanks!

Nope... the dice for the actual weapon (ie. a d6 for a rapier) is increased (by the critical multiplier), and any bonus damage due to magic or STR. But Sneak attack damage (and Duelist's equiv.) or elemental damage from a flaming sword isn't multiplied... it is added in after, at it's normal amount, unless it is also a burst.

[edit] Damn you Crothian... fast typer! ;)

1) i would have to say no, since it affects targets like a rogue's sneak attack (i.e. not effective against creature immune to criticals, etc.)

2) no, that's what (energy) burst weapons are for
