Dumb question about powers, somthing really basic not sure about.

OK, if a power says its a melee attack, do you add all the modifiers you would for a normal melee attack? If the power says its STR vs. AC do you just roll with your STR bonus or do you add your prof. and feat, all other bonuses you would for that type of attack?
