Is the Dundjinni software ever going to be available?? Its been a long time since it was available for sale.

I used to own it but then bought a new computer and it didn't transfer.

So i'd like to buy it again IF the owner of the Dundjinni software property would allow sites to sell it again.

I'd also like to post on the Dundjinni forums but for some reason it keeps signing me out everytime I try to post.

Well, it's been down for 8 months and the owner of the company has been incommunicado for four months. I'd say it's unlikely to ever come back. If there were interest in it, there would probably have been a way to make it happen before now, since it would mean some amount of cash from new sales. For that matter, I was interested in purchasing some of the art packs for use with other programs.

On the other hand, anything is possible.

Eh, I have Dundjinni as well and have only used it a few times. Being experienced with many graphics applications, I find Dundjinni to have always been extremely inferior software. Any drawing application is far better than Dundjinni ever was. Its just a stamping program after all. None of the cool graphical elements were created in Dundjinni as that is not what the program did at all. I'd rather use graphics applications that can both create the realistic map objects as well as place them on the map.

Use a combination of GIMP and Inkscape, both are free apps and both are similar to Photoshop and Illustrator respectively. I use Xara Xtreme Pro to create all my maps, and I am a professional fantasy cartographer. Convert all those Dundjinni map objects into PNG format and you can use them universally in any graphics application.

I won't miss Dundjinni being gone, it was never a very good application in the first place.

I'm just a novice who uses Dundjinni to make maps for my own use. If I was a Pro Cartographer i'd probably go the route you're talking about.

I miss Dundjinni, when it worked. B-)

There are plenty of beginning mappers using GIMP or other software. Go to the Cartographers' Guild, sign up and start checking the various tutorials on many programs we use to create maps with. You'd be surprised how easy other applications are to use in making maps. Of all the software used in the CG, GIMP comprises most of them. Don't worry that GIMP is hard to use, like Photoshop, stick with the tutorials and you'll be a master in no time at all.

I dabble with GIMP, but then I'm more proficient with Photoshop, which is really the same kind of software - PS does more, but not much more.
