Dungeon 114 Cover

Kind of reminds me of an Amazing Stories cover or something.
That's not a bad thing.

It's certainly easier to read than the old Dung3eon thing that was
there before. And it certainly makes more sense now that it
should be Dung3.5eon.

The cover art itself is kind of ho-hum for this issue (for me at least)... Another party flipping out and killing everybody. I had to check to be
sure it wasn't just a duplicate of what was on the old 3.5 DM screen.
I'd much rather have seen a lava-breathing dragon or some mad god
on the cover.

Nice and clean. I agree with the Amazing Stories comparison (or Argosy for that matter) but I don't think that's bad. The color of the word Dungeon seems a surprising choice. I'd expect something a little brighter, but what do I know?

It looks more 1970's than 1950's to me - which I like. :D

Can't wait to see it in the flesh, er, pulp - which is about 6 weeks from now, given the speed of my local books a million. Maybe I should seriously ask for a Dungeon and dragon subscrip as a Christmas present from the family...

My thoughts on the logo? BLEEEEECCCCCCHHHH!!! Looks like it's out of the 50s.

LOL! I thought the same thing when I first looked at the cover. I thought it was sort of ugly at first, but it's growing on me. I do agree with Knight Otu that the different pieces don't seem to fit together visually, at least to my eye (but what do I know about visual design anyway).

As for the interior changes, I think they make sense in a way (Dungeonhas always been mostly for DMs), but I think most people who buy the magazines are used to them being a certain way - that is, you buy Dungeon for adventures and Dragon for everything else. It'll take some getting used to.

I like what the interview had to say. One problem I've traditionally had with Dungeon is that if I'm not in the mood to read an entire adventure, there's not much for me to read on the bus to work. It sounds like the new articles fix that problem: The Cast, The Dungeon, The Journey, and Backdrops all sound like cool regular articles to have.

Love the cover and love the player/DM split for the mags.

I stopped buying Dungeon when the price hike went up and Poly was added.

But then I bought the Maure castle issue (GREAT!), skipped 113 but will be buying 114. If I like what I see will continue buying.

This is great timing too. I just started running a B/X campaign for my GF's 12 year old son and his friends. First module they are going through now is B1. It's a blast.

Next on the lists are B2 Keep on the Borderlands and X1 Isle of Dread. What could be better than issue 114?

Plus, isn't Dungeon supposed to have poster maps for Greyhawk sometime soon?

Mr. Lobo

I don't like it much. The font lacks pizzaz. Dungeon is not a "bleeech" magazine; it deserves something a little flashier, something that will stand out on newstand.

Paizo drops the ball! just when i was about to resubscribe too. This saves me 40 bux.

Edit...... maybe i will forgive the look, The Isle of Dread IS where i plan on sending my PCs. will buy at newstand and decide then.
