Dungeon 99

CrazyMage

4th Level Lawful Good Cleric
I can't be the first guy to get his issue in the mail, but I haven't found any other threads on this so...

Critical Threats: Colossal Crypt
Critical Threats: Phyx, Choker Rog/Ftr/Asn
Adventure: Quadripartite (p. 20-47)
2 Maps of Mystery: Githzerai Monastery, Temple of Boccob
Adventure: Fish Story (p. 55-69)

And finally an answer to those "Incursion" previews--a tie-in between Dragon, Dungeon, and Polyhedron featuring a githyanki invasion. In the Polyhedron mini-game you "assume the role of an evil githyanki invader."

Flip-side
A monster (Drop Bear; think killer koala) from d20 Modern Menace Manual, a couple of maps (bank, downtown night club) for d20 Modern, and the mini-game HiJinx "animated pop adventure." Rock on!

Gaming insert is Dungeon Dressing, Set #1. Fold-up model of throne, pair of columns, pair of torch stands, and some decorations. A cool idea, and I look forward to more.

I think there was a thread last week, but it may have sunk.

I am proud to be the author of "Colossal Crypt", and was totally blown away by the illustration Jeff Carlisle did for the piece. Excellent job. It was a joy to work with the fine folks at Dungeon.

Unfortunately, it appears I got inappropriate credit for "Phyx" as well, due to an oversight. Seth Spencer is the real author, and he is listed in the table of contents but, regrettably, not in the actual piece. Hopefully he'll get due credit in the next issue.

Just wanted to let people know that.

Now it makes sense.
I'm not getting my magazine EARLY, but rather LATE.
That seems about right for me.

The Colossal Crypt was pretty cool, by the way. And that was a cool picture to go with it.

Dungeon #100

"The 100th issue o f Dungeon Magazine is here. Launched as the consummate D&D adventure magazine in 1986, Dungeon has become the ultimate DMs supplement. This issue will also be the first to feature the revised 3rd Edition rules. Issue #100 will feature a sampling of all the best Dungeon has to offer, including:

Incursion: The Lich Queen's Beloved by Christopher Perkins. The massive crossover event will finally arrive. (Refers then to page 52 which has the Incursion info: "As the githyanki advance into the world, your high-level heroes have a chance to strike a devastating blow against the armies of the dread Lich Queen. Travel to the Astral Plane and the Lich Queen's city of Susurrus, and take the fight to the leader of the incursion--the tyrant who would be a god. Not using Incursion? That's okay. This adventure can be played on its own as a high-level quest worthy of the most memorable bardic lore.")

Old Embers Never Die by Andy Collins. The designer behind the revised PHB brings one of Dungeon's most memorable villains back to the pages of the magazine. The cover subject of #1, Flame, the powerful red dragon featured in that issue's "Into the Fire" and issue #17's "Out of the Ashes" returns to his lair in the Western Mountains, hungry for blood and treasure. For 4 12th level PCs.

Woe to Mistledale by Skip Williams. This sequel to #87's "Raiders of Galath's Roost" takes the PCs back to the Dales region of the Forgotten Realms. Someone--whether drow, the local elves, or another force entirely--has taken up residence in the forests near Mistledale, disrupting the trade near the Moonsea Ride and slaughtering merchants. The PCs must embark on a convoluted investigation to uncover the mystery behind the attacks. For 4 8th level PCs

Beast of Burden by Michael Kortes. Some massive creature has appeared from the wilds, stalking and destroying entire villages. That alone would have the region in an uproar, but the fact that an organized army seems to live on the creature's back, raining destruction on villagers and the land alike. The PCs must catch the mysterious beast and stop the marauders living atop it before they reach a major city. For 4 6th level PCs

Critical Threats by Jonathan Tweet, Monte Cook, Rich Baker, and Peter Adkison, a new Map of Mystery, an editorial retrospective and timeline looking at Dungeon #1-100.
