Dungeon Crawl Classics Adventures question

I'm interested in these adventures, but damn! There's a bunch of them!

Ok a few questions...

1) Are there any "STAY AWAY FROM THIS ADVENTURE!" That I need to be aware of? Any real dogs and stinkers in the lot?

2) Quality...are they fun? do they take long to run? A few sessions, as per usual I would imagine.

3) All dungeons all the time? Any outdoor stuff or are they just..."Here's the story hook...go to dungeon."? Castles or forts or just dungeons?

1) I've not really found a stinker but I doin't have them all.

2) The ones I've run we've had a lot of fun with. Some take a session or two others can be quite think and take a bit longer. I think the smallests is 16 pages and the longest I've seen is like 96. But it is just not the length of the adventures, some of them are tough and the players will want to slow down and think a bit more on how not to get killed.

3) More then not they are dungeons. But there is one in a tower, one on a boat, a castle, a manor house, etc.

1) No, but Crypt of the Devil Lich is a reimagining of Tomb of Horrors, so be advised on the way in. Vault of the Dragon Kings is another tournament toughie.

2) Most of them are quite fine. The $2 Module/Dragonfiend Pact is a good way to put your toe in -- it's short, cheap and a nice little unusual experience.

3) There are castles and forts and tombs and caves and towers and sewers and mines and dungeons. I honestly don't recall any outdoor modules, but they may exist.

The Adventure Begins is a hardcover collection of twenty level 1 - 2 adventures, with details on how to "scale them up". Not all the adventures are jaw-dropping, but most of them seem fun. (For example, I ran the first one in the book...was able to complete it in 4.5 hours and my players seemed to have a good time.) They're "dungeon crawls" clothed in alternate settings other than dungeons (boats, caves, a well, etc). Very very non-setting specific so that it's plug-n-play. Also has 2 or 3 hooks to entice your party with. Comes with maps and often has player illustrations / handouts.

Honestly, one of the best $35 books I've ever bought.

...And yes, I do tend to buy a number of $35 books. Sigh.

If you go to their website, they have pretty informative pages on each one. Usually you can tell what sort of "crawl" it is. A lot aren't dungeons, there's towers, caves, manors/houses, ziggurats, etc.

I bought the pdf version (so that I could simply print up the adventures that I wanted to use), and agree that it is a good deal. You can easily scale up the adventures if necessary. I love it. :)
