Dungeon Delve feedback for WotC

Alright, I fail at reading comprehension.

I get that the Dungeon Delve product uses one of the dungeon tile packs for its maps. I get that it sometimes uses more than one copy or more than one pack or something. I get that this is called out by the adventurers in the Dungeon Delve product.

Where can I find out how many packs are required for each adventure, prior to buying the product?

If I can buy Dungeon Delve and a pack of map pieces and then go to town bashing dungeons with my friends, I'll do it. If I can't, I won't. If a significant number of the delves require more packs than I'm willing to buy, I won't. If I can't figure out whether that's the case prior to buying the product, I won't buy the product.

Right here

I'm not a fan of Dungeon Tiles at all, I find them far too limiting and unwieldy. I was hoping that Dungeon Delve would give me a reason to pull them out and use them though.

Do any of the delves in the book require the out of print sets?

Also count me in for wanting full maps with the digitally distributed adventures at the very least. I can't imagine a scenario where the artist couldn't produce both without much extra effort. I'll certainly vote with my dollars if a 3rd pp starts providing them with their modules.

I know that was looked into back in the early days of the product. I think there were some problems with the idea, but I don't remember the particulars, so I can't speak intelligently about the subject.
Good to know it was thought of. Here's to looking that those problems may be resolved at a future date :).

Oh, I had another question: there used to be three "power card display boxes" on amazon
[listing before discount for $79.92 each]; phb I, martial power, and phb II. The only one showing now is phb I, the other two had the images removed and stated "this item is no longer available". Is amazon changing the product description and images? Are they being pushed back?

The wotc site says that the martial power card display is going to release in march, and phb II power card display is releasing august. Putting the ISBN's into amazon gets me nothin'.

Thanks. I guess part of my baffled 'WTF' moment was, and this is me being a computer ignant, is that it wouldn't seem to be a problem of making larger maps for game play if you have a high-res master copy of the map.

I'm also a firm supporter of including larger maps for play, of course I'm not sure if WotC currently requires 8.5' x 11' masters of their maps or if they specify the dimensions they're looking for in their art orders.

Well Look at That

Hey all, guess what I found out. We do provide map files for our adventures, and have been doing it for a while.

Here's one for the last compiled issue of Dungeon
Dungeon 162 Galleries

Better yet, it's on the free side of our website. How about that for awesome?

I knew were were planning on doing it eventually, that eventually was just a few months ago, I guess.

Same for the books, or is it just for Dungeon?

edit: Doh, yes it's for everything. To get the "unkeyed" versions you need to be a DDI subscriber however. Here is the gallery link: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/4arch/ag

Hi Adso,

Thank you for taking the time out to chat with us about your work. I don't have the Dungeon Delve yet but I always thought this was a great idea and I can't wait to get my hands on it. My friends and I often get together for quick one-shot adventures and this will fit the need perfectly.

I haven't used Dungeon Tiles as much recently since my Dwarven Forge obsession bloomed (and where else would I invest my money these days!). However, back when I used them, my biggest complaints were the sets that had lots of little pieces with few larger room pieces. I'm specifically think about the caverns of the underdark set.

My favorite set was the Dire Tombs set. I bought two sets of these and I'm glad I did. For the Yuan-ti Egyption style pyramids, its perfect.

Seeing how quickly they go out of print, I may end up buying more tiles just to have them on hand for traveling games.

Anyway, thanks again for the conversation. It's very informative. I can't wait to get my hands on the Delve.

When I designed Caves of Carnage, I specifically had your Caverns of the Underdark review in mind. Caves of Carnage has eight 4x4 squares, four 4x4 corners, one 8x8 set piece and three 8x4 tiles that make it pretty easy for building large rooms. There are also transition pieces allowing easy combinations with the normal tiles, sewers tiles, and wilderness tiles.
