What is/was "the mana pool?"

The old Wizards' offices were in a four-building complex, with each building forming a side to a large square. In the middle was a very shallow pool that was named "the Mana Pool."

I am reminded of a humorous article by John Tynes about WotC during the Adkison reign, which I like to think of it as mostly fictional.

Has the errata in it, including the magic weapon/armor getting more hardness and hit point as opposed to having to be attacked by an equally powerful weapon.

I was wondering if someone who has the book could clear up the following for me? Has the description of the "+1 level of spellcasting class" ability changed from the original:

"the character gains new spells per day as if she had also gained a level in whatever arcane spellcasting class she belonged to before she added the prestige class"

to

"the character gains new spells per day as if she had also gained a level in whatever arcane spellcasting class she belonged to before she added the prestige class level" as seems to be the case for the newer PrCs?

edit. Found it in Archmage. Yes, it now says "prestige class level."

Thanks, and sorry for the confusion. I should have realized that not everyone will know I'm talking about the prestige classes.

I knew it was prestige classes, but not which ones, since I don't use them. Didn't take long to track it down.
