Dungeon Master's Kit is redundant

I've played 4e for about 2 years. Recently I bought the Dungeon Master's kit, the Rules compendium, Monster Vault and the Heroes of Fallen Lands.

The rules compendium is nice, the Monster Vault is awesome, but the Dungeon Master's kit is redundant.

Almost all the information in it is also included in the Rules Compendium- it's hundreds of pages of repeated information, often word for word.

What it DOES come with is 2 so-so adventures, some more monster tokens, and a 10 page list of magic items.

The only thing I liked about it was the excellent DM screen with useful, up-to-date information. That's a lifesaver- not worth 35 or 40 though.

Don't waste your money on it :( It's literally hundreds of pages of repeated information. I was really sad.

It's more precise to say that the Rules Compendium is redundant, and that it repeats information printed elsewhere.

And, y'know, that's the whole point. The Rules Compendium is designed as a quick table reference that anyone playing can make use of.

I just finished running Reavers. Me and my group liked it.

I actualy enjoyed if for a number of reasons: 1) the screen is good and was a good stop gap until the new screen came out. 2) The aforementioned adventure. 3) Poster maps!

The DM's Kit comes with an entire sheet of PC tokens. Every race in the Heroes books is represented with multiple tokens, both male and female.

Yeah I have a Rules Compendium and a DM Kit, and I like both.

DM screen is really good.

I always can use more tokens.

The adventure is actually really nice.

Maps are great.

DMG has not only rules but suggestions for running the game. And its always nice to have more than one set of rules at a table.
