Dungeon Tiles, Maps and things of that nature...

i think the point is taht you can make your own books, in the same style as the "official" ones

Yeap. It would be a way to present your adventure in a more professional-looking way and in a way that could be sold as such (or just used/printed for your group, shared on another site, etc). Or you could simply find and print out a dungeon/location in a hurry and skip the rest, or anything in-between.

I'm not sure. It sounds like something I will think is extremely cool once I use it, but until then I just can't be sure.

I gotcha, well that goes for me as well with regards to making it. I wouldn't mind putting the time into creating it if I knew a lot of people would be interested - and I can see arguments for and against. Otherwise I'll just stick to kickin out some dungeons/locations here and there for fun and leave it at that. But, that's why I threw it out there - to see what people thought. It's just an idea at this point (among many really) ;)

Personally, I love maps. Sometimes, I just use them for inspiration. Frequently, however, I also use them as player handouts and setting builders. For instance, I found a map online I liked the look of and gave it to the players as something they found on a body. They don't know what it's to yet, and I honestly haven't written the adventure either.

As for use with miniatures, if I want something for the mins I either use tiles, draw on the mats, or occassionally blow up a regular map and print it out. I have no real interest in high quality tiles for a specific map because I'm not going to use them twice so they're a waste of ink. (With the exception of a generic area I can reuse, like a ship, because I can have multiple ships with similar deckplans.)

The service of picking a background and putting into a PDF, et cetera, would not interest me. I can create my own PDFs easily, and I'd rather just have the map.

When I had the time to write my own campaigns fully from scratch, I used the Map-A-Week maps for inspiration many times.

As time became more and more precious, I started to rely more on pre-written material, but would still interject my own stuff from time to time to tie things together.

Maps printable to mini scale are my preferred kind, as I find they save time over getting the maps drawn on my Tact-Tiles. This is especially true if it's a tile-type of map, like Dungeon Tiles, or the stuff that Skeleton Key games puts up for their generic locations (like dungeon corridors and such).

Same. In fact, I was so impressed/inspired by maps being done back then I emailed WoTC to see if there was a way to get in touch with Todd Gamble. They passed my email along to him (they wouldn't give me his which makes sense) and he contacted me. I'm sure he wouldn't remember me, but I recall getting to quiz him on some things as I was making maps as well at the time - was great ;)

Thanks for the feedback JediSoth ;)
