Cool design. I think the long term prospects would be better if they either started on a smaller scale or built it somewhere with vast, established, themed-experience-oriented tourist traffic like Orlando of Las Vegas, or else somewhere more adjacent to a major population center. While Lake Geneva is growing as a regional tourist destination, I think it could only support a business like this, on this scale, seasonally at best, and this design looks too expensive to only be open seasonally and pay its lease or mortgage. A 350 seat restaurant in a town with a local population of 8,000 really requires everything to line up just so.

But if it gets built I definitely want to go there while it lasts.

It's not nowhere. But a 350 seat themed restaurant is something for more of a Disneyworld scale tourist destination. I think they're getting carried away with wanting to incorporate all their cool design ideas and would be better off starting with a fraction the scale.

I agree, but I'm also thinking they want to be prepared for convention traffic. I'm not sure how much that will help them outside of that, however.

D&D started in that part of the country, but it's too spread out to support a restaurant that size, and paying performers and the like is going to blow their budget pretty fast.

I would take a leaf from the various 'barcades' and board game cafes and start in a big college town. Massachusetts has a bunch of those, but it's also expensive and cold. Maybe try a college town up there--Ann Arbor, Bloomington, Urbana-Champaign? Ann Arbor's not too far from the DFW airport for rich geeks who wanted to fly in.

Lake Geneva and its county are the 5th most popular tourist site in the state and most of that tourism is dedicated to super premium experiences at resorts in Gilded Age mansions that look quite a bit like the exterior plan for this place.
The location is essentially equidistant drive from Chicago, Milwaukee, and Madison.

Theme restaurants in similar places have done well, this isn't a first. It's got potential.

My favorite is Casa Bonita in Denver. Super neat place.

If the team behind this manages to open the Griffin & Gargoyle, I just might make a trip to Lake Geneva to check it out!
