Well after taking a look at the finished Factotum, I am actually pretty pleased with how it turned out. I think it goes well with the Chameleon Pclass, as they both have some things in common, but both also offer abilities that the other does not.

That said.. I am very pleased to see people excited about this book (especially rot grubs... I could not resist bringing those back).

I am glad you like it, especially since it's a warped version of your own creation. That means it's good enough for my games then. And thanks for stating it has differences with the Chameleon. I was worried of making one or the other obsolete in my games but it's good to know they can mesh well. Now I can't wait to see it. :D

That actually disappoints me, since I find that new spells (particularly in the hands of sorcerer NPCs) to be a really easy way to drop in new content. Given how creative the new spells in Dragon Magic and Complete Mage were, I was hoping to see some of these new postmodern D&D spells in Dungeonscape. Hopefully the next books will have them!

You can never have enough spells in D&D :D

Nah, it's kinda like naming a class "handyman" or "administrative assistant."

I wonder what other names they considered. "Adventurer" is probably too generic, plus they already have a Complete book by that name. "Dungeoneer" might have worked, but that seems too narrow for a base class.
I would have been fine with Dungeoneer.

Hoser Encounter (EL 8). . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 102

Who knew that we Canadians were threatening enough to be an EL 8 encounter?

"Power attack this eh?!"

:p

Nah, Dungeoneer would imply it had abilities related to, well, adventuring in dungeons. Which, clearly, the new class is not.

He said, as he swung from the heels with his +5 hockey stick of tooth removal. :p

I guess it's the janitor. Someone has to sweep that dungeon after all.
I thought was what gelatinous cubes were for? Or maybe... :)

Finally, a base class that let's me play a gelatinous cube!
