Let me say that I think the dwarf's +5 to saves against poison (and the eladrin's +5 vs charm) are both strong useful abilities, and they don't "need" changing.
But I had this idea, and I think it would be a more elegant way of describing these abilities.
Cast Iron Stomach: Whenever exposed to a poison effect that allows a saving throw, you get one immediate save.
There's a couple of reasons I like this:
1) It better represents a dwarf's ability to shrug off poison. Normally the dwarf is going to take one round of the poison before he gets a save. With this, he can avoid the poison entirely.
2) Its easier to bookkeep. Normally, you have to remember to add the +5 each time, and if you have a series of saving throws to make that can be a little hard to remember. With this, you get hit with poison, you instantly make a save, and your done. No muss, no fuss, you carry on with your other saves exactly as normal. You don't require any additional math.
Now this is a boost to the racial power because it allows the dwarf to possibly avoid the poison entirely. On the other hand, the immediate save doesn't synergize as well with other saving throw bonuses that would make a dwarf's save vs poison nearly automatic. I don't think its too much power creep to allow the ability, especially since it deals with fairly specific effects.
What you do you all think?
