E-tools: Advance an animal and give it class levels

I can figure out how to advance an animal (specifically a leopard) and I can figure out how to give an animal class levels, but not both. Do I have to go through and make a new race out of the leopard but advanced to the proper hit die?

Yeah I don't think you can do both at once -- making a new race would be the way to go. First advance the animal, maybe print out its stat block to help you with entering the new race.

Yes, you would have to.

Once you start Advancing as a Character (Level), you can no longer go back to Advancing as a Monster (Hit Die). And vice-versa. So, yes, go create a new .rac file and start with your new hit die, then create a character based off of that. =)

The only thing I don't see is too give it Hit Die..do I do that on the advancement table?

You give it its base hit dice on the very first screen of the Race Builder (where you pick things like Large, Animal, 8 HD, Incorporeal, or whatever).
