E-Tools Data Sets: Any thoughts?

I'm so very happy that Code Monkey is working on this project that I hate to complain, but these packs need some patching. I've found a number of bugs so far. I'm going to try to catalog them, although I assume that they've already got some of them reported. Some magic items are posted as costing millions of gold pieces; I rolled up a human character who for some reason teh computer gave negative ability modifiers to (-1 to Str, Dex and Con, +1 to Int, Wis, and Cha).

Strange things.

Yup, we've noted many problems already... we expected to... we tried to catch as many as we could, but we are only monkeys after all... *sigh*

We've got a working list running internally, adding in the reports from folk on our site... (which is HUGELY faster now, huzzah!)... If you want to add anything to it, send an email to customer.service@codemonkeypublishing.com and I'll make sure that things get taken care of...

We'll be releasing the rest of the etools bundles and the PCGen sets (dual and bundles) tonight/tomorrow morning...

Hopefully the DNS propogation (what allows you to hit the site and the store) will wrap up today.. unfortunately, that bit is out of our hands, that relies on ISP's doing *tech geek-speak* DNS flush/re-reg'ing...

We weren't planning on making the site move until next weekend, but some people didn't take the hint (okay, 128x128 clue by four to the head :p) to not use download accelarators.... That's what was slowing the site down (and made it unavailable a couple times since friday)...

Ah, the price of fame... or is that infamy? :D

I want to resurrect this thread because as of about three days ago, when I bought e-tools, no 3.5 Core Book data set was available. And now it's January.

I'm reading nothing on CMP's site that tells me what's going on with this, if they're even still working on it, or what. So if Mynex is still around, maybe a note here when some progress has been reached?

Still and all, I wouldn't have bought e-tools if I hadn't thought that CMP would come through, and I'm glad it's them doing the work now.

We had some code issues that needed fixing that cropped up last minute on us, as well as WotC wanting some 'tidying up' of things for the data part of it...

the 1.4.1 patch is _planned_ for release this week and 3.5 support is in it (check files--> Preferences for a surprise on that in the current 1.4)...

The 3.5 sets won't be released this coming week, but should soon be released (beating the hell out of things, trying to make sure everything is working).

So that's where things are at.

Wow, thanks for the timely response!

That's good news about the 3.5 datasets. And I saw what you were talking about in 1.4, the version I bought. I imagine you can't just plug in a 3.5 dataset, as the calculations and in some cases whole new concepts have changed. Still, I'll be ready to buy it when it comes out.
