E1: Tomb of Chaos [Judge: Patlin] [Concluded]

Nars withdraws back out the door, tumbling if necessary. Next round he drinks his potion of cure light wounds. He is not sure how badly injured anyone else is, but it certainly seems they are losing the battle and he is doing no one any good so far forward. Gasping for breath, he says, "There's more. Cats."

At last, an opponent vulnerable to Violet, thinks the Deep Halfling. He turns toward the mummified cats and attacks one of them with his hammer. He moves to bar the way for them to assail the rest of the party.

OOC: Percy makes her second spellcraft check. I also need to figure out how many spells she has left. She's cast, I believe, mage armor, 3 light spells, and sleep. Anyone else remember something she cast since the morning, when the gnolls interrupted the party's rest?

"Someone's in there casting summoning spells!" Percy shouts. "And my light spells can't dispell this darkness. Let's retreat! Make them come to us! Come out! Out of the darkness!"

Percy stumbles backwards, trying to find a place where she can see.

[Round 4 cont]

Rodimus attacks the nearest cat, stepping up to hit it. Neither fist is able to connect however. Rodimus feels slightly weaker due to continued blood loss from the bat wounds.

Gorefoot stays close to Percy delaying for instructions.

The Bat Swarm remains asleep. Anyone moving through their squares will need to take their time not to wake any of the little bats.

Nars withdraws. He successfully manages to avoid stepping on any of the sleeping bats. Nars feels slightly weaker due to continued blood loss from the bat wounds.

Ishmael steps carefully through the littered field of slumbering vermin to strike at the second cat. The warhammer strikes solid bone beneath mummified covering, shattering a few ribs on the cheetah. Ishmael feels slightly weaker due to continued blood loss from the bat wounds.

Nezrak now ready with his burning hands chooses to wait until the bats regain consciousness or there is direction from the party leader. Nezrak feels slightly weaker due to continued blood loss from the bat wounds.

[Round 5]

Having concluded the casting of his spell, the caster in the darkness summons a large baboon behind Ishmael. The baboon's eyes glow a fierce green. Directly in the midst of the bats, the baboon's appearance starts to wake them up. The baboon lays into the flanked deep halfling, but misses due to the darkness. The voice in the darkness casts another spell and a shadowy battleaxe comes into existance beside Rodimus. It too fails to hit. [sblock=Spellcraft DC 17]The battle axe is a spiritual weapon.[/sblock]

Percy urges everyone to move back down the corridor. She herself moves back past Novrne to just around the bend.

(ooc: Thats all Percy has cast I believe. The fight that interrupted your rest was prior to when she regained spells. There was a fight with a ghast after that, but I don't think she used any spells.

The darkness doesn't really end. The spell turned out all the lights. For those who could still see in the dark, it also made gave everything concealment (20%) which coincidently has not had any negative effect on the darkvision people yet...)

Hearing Percy call for a retreat, Ishmael asks everyone else to follow while he acts as rearguard. He hunches forward, letting his shield cover his form.

OOG: Delay 'till after nezrak then Full defense and cover the rear.

Nars drinks his cure light wounds potion and retreats down the hallway feeling terrible as blood flows down his face into his beard, down his arms and legs, staining his clothes.

OOC: Percy still doesn't really know what's going on the darkness very well, and isn't able to give better instructions to Nezrak. He can't see anyway, I suppose, which would make burning hands a dangerous spell. Someone who can see in the dark should tell him what to do.

IC: Percy readies her crossbow as she backs away, gazing anxiously into the darkness.
