E1: Tomb of Chaos [Judge: Patlin] [Concluded]

Gorefoot moves forward in the shadowy darkness, trying to find his other three companions. He sees Rodimus and points back to where Percy and Nars are shouting, "We're going back that way! I've got to get the others!" He moves past and shouts out to Nezrak and Ishmael, "Ishmael! Nezrak! It's all clear back here!" Gorefoot stands at the door, ready to attack any foes that try to follow his companions.

[Round 6, Cont]

Gorefoot moves up beside Rodimus just outside the doorway. He shouts to the others over the flapping of the bat wings directly in front of him.

Nars delays his action ready to attack anything that comes at him or Percy.

Ishmael ignores the snapping jaws of the cheetah (who misses anyways) and the sickening touch of the bats and charges straight over to the jackal. His warhammer comes down in a wicked smash landing with a sickening thud against the jackal's head. The jackal's spell fizzles before he is able to cast it. Ishmael is completely out of the field of the darkness spell now.

Nezrak casts colour spray on the bats, but once again the bats do not seem very affected and the cheetahs prove immune to the pattern. Luckily for him though he manages to step south of his current position and get out of the bat swarm without being sick to his stomach again.

[Round 7]

The jackal steps back from Ishmael and barks out a harsh curse. The halfling feels the weight of the ancient curse settle over him, draining him. [sblock=Spellcraft DC 18]Ishmael has been the target of a bestow curse.[/sblock]

The spiritual hammer moves over to attack Nezrak. It hits the wizard and inflicts a light wound. Nezrak does receive a little reprieve as the bats move off to attack those at the door.

Rodimus and Gorefoot both feel the sting of bat wounds.

All is not good though as one of the cheetahs bounds over to the wizard and clamps its jaws around his leg giving him a terrible shake and shattering one of his bones. Nezrak falls unconscious and bleeding on the ground.

The second cheetah tries to attack Rodimus, but misses.

Percy casts magic missile at the closest cheetah, scoring it with two dark marks.

Sorry Nezrak, it looks like those bats can really make will saves! another 17 this round. The cheetah hit you too :( at least there is no infection...

For a single moment, Ishmael staggers under the weight of the curse, but then he continues his assault. A warcry in Draconic escapes his lips as he closes in for the kill.
 

They'll never escape through these bats, I have to do something!

Gorefoot turns to Rodimus and shouts, "Get Nezrak and Ishmael out, I'll try to keep these things busy." With that, he turns and runs into the room, swinging at the bats as he goes and shouting, "Come get me you flying rats!"

[sblock]I fairly sure that the bats are immune to weapon damage, but if they aren't, Gorefoot is just swinging normally. Also, he is running to the "upper" area of the room, where Ishmael was fighting the skeletons, as he doesn't want to lead the bats in Nezrak's direction. That's assuming they follow him.[/sblock]
 

"Ah! Nezrak!" Percy aims her crossbow and fires off a bolt at the cheetah standing over Nezrak. She then drops her crossbow in preperation for other actions...

OOC: rolls: Spellcraft success; crossbow failure!
 


[Round 7 cont]

Rodimus lashes out at the cheetah trying to bite his leg but is unable to hit. He moves to the side out of the bat swarm and towards a flanking position.

Gorefoot surrounded by bats, doubles over, nauseated by the crawly claws and leathery wings flashing across his skin and getting up under his clothing.

Nars moves past the closest cheetah that Rodimus is fighting and over to the one hovering over Nezrak. Felhunter smashes through loose wrappings and shatters bone, though it does less damage than expected.

Ishmael follows the jackal trying to continue his assault under the weight of the curse. Unluckily his motion is off and his hammer is way off mark.

[Round 8]

Yinopu steps away from Ishmael and casts another spell. Ishmael feels the touch of fear in his mind and is now frightened. [SBLOCK=Spellcraft DC 16]Cause Fear was cast[/sblock]

The bats move again to where the would find the most blood. That again happens to be Rodimus and Gorefoot. Both feel the sting of many tiny claws and bony sharp bits.

The cheetah in front of Rodimus tries to claw, claw, bite him, but is unsuccessful, as is the one that turns its attention to Nars.

Percy tries to hit the cheetah standing over Nezrak, but Nars is in the way.

Ishmael, accursed and afraid, moves as far away as possible looking for a corner to cower in. He dares not approach the bat swarm or the cheetahs for fear.
 

OOC: I could use a map update. Percy would like to stay out of the way of the bats. If she can move to the doorway of the room w/o getting into the bat swarm, she will do so, and then ready an action to fire a magic missile at Yinopu. If he doesn't spellcast his round, she'll fire at him anyway. If moving to the doorway is too dangerous, she'll stay back a bit and fire the magic missile at the cheetah. Magic missile damage: 6
 

ooc: I have my map files at work, so I'll post an update on monday. For now, the bats, Rodimus, and Gorefoot are about 10-15 feet into the room and almost against the north wall. Ishmael and Yinopu are on the far side of the room in about the middle of the far wall. Nar, Nezrak, and the one cheetah is against the south wall. The other cheetah is in the swarm with Rodimus. Percy can get to the doorway w/o getting into the swarm and she can then hold her magic missile no problem.
