E2: The Secret of Gemhold [Patlin Judging]

Percy will take the potions and the gold cup. The rest she has no use for. After a brief chat with Nars, she realizes those 'dog's are dangerous. They could detect an invisible spy in the fort. They also might detect a disguised halfling. While this was bad news, at least they now knew.

If Nars is still game to spy from the tree, she'll lead the others back to their hiding place. Once there, she'll try to figure out what the potions are.

OOC: She rolls a 22,29 & 30. So maybe she identifies two. Or maybe if they're all the same type, she identifies none...

Nars nods approvingly at Percy's comment about the dogs. She makes a good point.

"Ridik, can you, er, take a look at, ah, Gorefoot. I don't, er, like the look of that, ah, rash."

Then Nars will ascend the tree again and wait for any other passers-by.

Ridik will take the weapon and armor of the chief goblin. As Nars asks him, Ridik nods. "Sure." He then takes a look at Gorefoot to understand what is irritating his skin. If he don't understand, he will cast a cure minor wound spell. He will aslso cats a detect magic on the armor and wepaon, trying to understand why the leader was taking so much acre of his equipment.

Ridik is able to determine that the itching rash is an allergic reaction (-2 dex, cha) but is able to remove it with a simple orison (cure inconsequential wounds). With his spell he can see that the sword and the 3 potions are magical. The breastplate is most likely masterwork in quality.

Percy can tell that the second and third potions are cure moderate wounds, though she is not sure what the first one is.

Then Nars climbs back up into his tree to wait.

(ooc: anything else in the next little while)

"The sword is magical. I'm not good at using such weapon, but if someone else want to use it, your welcome. I think I'll take the Breastplate. It is not magical but of fine quality... it will just need to be clean a bit, but I think I'll have time tonight."

Percy will take one of the potions of cure moderate wounds. Beyond that, she's ready to wait til nightfall, when she'll go tell Nars to come down and they can all retreat to the stone marker to see if any reinforcements have arrived.

Gorefoot gives Ridik a grudging "Thanks." He keeps close to Percy, alert for danger. The recent thrashing of the goblins seems to have put him in decent spirits.

OOC: What are the stats of the lieutnant weapon (without magical bonus, as I don't know it yet), so I can write it on Ridik's sheet, just in case he need to use it.

ooc: the commander's weapon is a small longsword mechanically. I was a bit wrong in the other goblin's weapon descriptions. They are more like small halberds, but still crappy quality.

The others retreat again while Nars returns to his post. After about a little while waiting the sun starts to head down behind the distant western horizon. A couple more goblins depart from the gate heading north or south, but not close to the trail that he is on nor are they in as large a party as the one that the group tackled. He watches the keep as a few amusing yet grim goblin antics play out.

Things change in the castle in the dying light. He makes out a larger goblin emerge from the mine once the castle is in shadow. This larger goblin does not look like a hobgoblin at all. It is tall, but blue in hew. All goblins move away from it or bow before it. The greater goblin moves over towards the giants and speaks to them and even they bow before him.

Nars continues to watch as a seperate party similar in size to the one recently dealt with returns from the north. This group is carrying two heafty sized bucks bound on thick poles. The deer are dragging on the ground given the goblin's stature and they trip over one another fairly frequently as they enter the keep. Other goblins take over and bring the meat over to the giants to feed as the greater goblin moves away from them.
