E2: The Secret of Gemhold [Patlin Judging]

Nars meets back up with the group to decide the next day's action. He stifles a yawn and knucke's the small of his back as he tells them about what he saw. "The, er, blue one and the, ah, giants. They're the ones we, ah, should concern ourselves with. Too bad the, er, giants don't venture out on their own."

OOC: Oh, sorry, no. I interpreted the "the greater goblin moves away" as the blue goblin heading back into the cave and nothing more eventful happening that night. Strike my previous post. Nars continues to wait and watch until the sun comes back up.

Percy starts to worry about Nars once it starts to get dark. She heads back to the tree to check on him. Assuming he can give them an update, and reassure Percy that he won't fall assleep and fall out of the tree, and that he has sufficient food and water and will be careful, she'll leave him and head back to the marker to set up camp and spend the night.

Fridley is an easy companion during the day, mostly sleeping. At night, though, he becomes more active and can't resist going hunting. He comes back to check on Nars periodically, though, as he knows he's supposed to be available to bring Percy a message.

Ridik clean up teh armor he has found while waiting for Nars and put it on. "Well, I'll have to ask a blacksmith to relook that armor but it is light and flexible. Nars is not there yet? Do you think he is fine?"

Nars watches as the greater goblin speaks to a few of the other goblins around the camp once the giants have been fed. As it proceeds around the fort it is obvious to Nars that it is getting angrier and angrier. It stops in front of one particular goblin and after speaking to it in angry tones, draws a huge greatsword and slays the happless goblin. Stowing the greatsword it picks up the goblin and in a disgusting display, its lower jaw unhinges and the greater goblin consumes the dead...

Once the grisly feast has been completed, the greater goblin barks a few more orders at the assembled goblins who run off in terror. The greater goblin (who stands about 8ft. tall btw) stalks back off into the mine.

Two more goblins rush off into the forest, one heading directly towards Nars, just as Percy shows up. The goblins in fort begin mobilizing and arming the walls.

~~~
Back at the stone marker, a few hours after nightfall Cenerieth arrives with the nomadic host. They slip quietly through the undergrowth, though Gorefoot and the others are able to hear them coming. A host of perhaps 20 warriors has arrived to aid the assault.
Percy will down the goblin with another magic missile if she sees it in time to react first.
If Percy can get back & speak to the nomads, she'll suggest holding off til the morning at the earliest for the attack.
[Surprise Round]
Percy's magic missile slams into the goblin who is just at the base of Nar's tree. The four small purple missiles injure it, but do not kill it.
Nars has the opportunity to coordinate his attack with Percy before the little goblin can stammer in shock.
Nars had expected Percy's magic missles to fell the goblin and is surprised it is still standing. He draws Felhunter, but stays hidden in the tree for the moment.
"Ah!" Percy is also shocked to see the goblin survive. She doesn't plan on giving it another chance, though.
OOC: Percy actually casts as a 6th level sorcerer, so she only gets 3 magic missiles. I'll assume you rolled for the first attack. Here's her init & second magic missile attack. 17+6=23;13 dmg. Not bad.
