Joe the 3rd-level cleric has a 14 Cha, which means he had 5 turn attempts (3 + Cha mod). Now Joe is about to go into a graveyard to face a bunch of undead. He can see them walking around so he decides to cast eagle's splendor on himself boosting his Cha to 18 and giving him bonuses on his turning roll and damage. This also gives him two more turn attempts!
The battle is over and Joe survived. He used one turn attempt during the encounter and destroyed all the skeletons. His eagle's splendor spell is now worn off. How many turn attempts does Joe have left?
a. 5. Eagle's splendor gave him two "bonus" turn attempts and they were removed from those temporary turning attempts
b. 4 When you turn, you remove the number of times turned off your current maximum.
c. Something else.
As a follow-up question, what if Joe was extra zealous while in the graveyard and used all seven turn attempts, his total would be -2 at the end of the day. Or another twist, what if Joe had no turn attempts left and then cast's eagle's splendor, does that give him two more turn attempts? Are there any consequences to having a turned more times than you can usually turn due to a spell?
