D&D 5E Early release dates - Starter Set on July 3, PHB on August 8?

Let's Be clear: July 3rd is "most" of the Basic Rules. There will be more august 8th (PHB release), September (MM), and October (DMG). Although those last bits might be minor. But I think its pretty clear its not the "full" basic right out of the gate.

Another quick clarification, July 3rd according to Mearls will not be "most" of the rules, just character creation. More rules will come as they put them out, but the July 3rd date is just for people who want to make characters, if you want to run any type of game you will need the Starter Set for monsters, and other rules.

Sometime before the PHB more of the how to play stuff will be added to Basic, then with the release of the PHB a few monsters and some stuff from the DMG will be added.

July 3rd - character creation rules
Sometime before Aug 8th - undefined more rules for how to play
Aug 8th - with the release of the PHB, some monsters and magic items, a few other things from DMG
After Aug 8th - as other books start to get finished more will be added to the Basic game slowly until the release of the DMG.

Something I heard someone be confused about somewhere, you don't have to purchase anything at all to get access to the Basic Game pdf, without the Starter Set it won't be much use when first released but it is 100% free.

Are you sure about the intermediate release between the Starter and the PHB? I only remember the first release, concurrent with the Starter Set and containing only character creations and the successive release in August with monsters and campaign stuff.

Bah...In my head I was thinking "most rules come later" and then proceeded to type "most" instead of "some". I should really proofread.
