Anyone currently playing/running 3rd edition?

I'm about to start a new campaign with the Ardanyan's Revenge module and the third edition rules. I haven't played since the first edition back in the mid '90s. Reading through the updated rules it doesn't look like that much has changed.
I forgot how much I liked this system. I love how they handle magic items and magic overall. Plus, how can ya beat Horrors as BBEG?

Unfortunately not. Our group stuck with 1e since it's the only edition available in German.

Even without changing _a lot_ 3e is still a significant improvement over 1e, though. It solves most of the issues we've identified during play (and have mostly fixed for our group using house-rules).

Would you mind giving me an introduction to Earthdawn, Sirs?

I got myself the 2e corebooks cheap, but haven't played it yet,
and the publication history seems kind of messy.

If I was to play, what would I need?

Is it even a setting/game that is accessible enough for casual n00bs?
