We were looking on pg. 138 in 3.5 PHB under Move Actions:
Move action: A move action allows you to move your speed or perform an action that takes a similar amount of time. You can move your speed, climb 1/4, draw weap. or item, STAND UP, pick up an obj, or perform equiv action see table 8.2.
If you move no actual distance in a round (commonly because you have swapped your move for one or more equivalent actions, such as STANDING UP), you can take one 5' step either before, during, or after the action. For example, if Tordek is on the ground, he can stand up ( a move action), move 5' (a 5' step), and then attack.
After reading that we were kinda confused, I did agree that would take away from the trip but that would in turn take away from the tumble skill which kinda defines the char. type.
