It's mildly insulting that you consider me part of the "whining masses", particularly because I'm not too fond of whining myself.

I never used the phrase "whining masses."

I have no idea where you're getting that, or why you should feel insulted.

However, you state that "hit points are just about as nebulous as Action Points"... precisely... a PrC based on having more hit points would be totally lame in my book. At least I like to believe that the barbarian has a whole lot more of flavor going on...

Guess we have to agree to disagree, then. I think a PrC based around the concept of hit points could be pretty interesting (i.e., the "Why won't you die!" class).

As for the EE, given that Eberron has been pitched as a sort of melange of high fantasy and Indy-esque pulp, I think it fits in pretty well with what I've seen so far. The EE is knowledgeable (second-best skill point progression, pretty good selection of class skills with an archaeological bent), fairly tough (d8 hit dice), and seems to have fate on his side (action point boost, dodge and evasion abilities). Sounds like Indy, which sounds like a pretty solid archetype to me. And, heck, it's only 5 levels.

And, FWIW, it's not all that out of line with some of the "bland" PrC's in the 3.5e DMG, i.e., based on facilitating a character concept (e.g., Eldritch Knight), rather than a campaign-specific one.

I guess we'll see. I continue to look forward to it.

Action Points are detailed in the d20 Modern SRD. Essentially, they're extra points you can use to do certain things, like power a specific class ability or improve the results of a die roll.

I think the PrC just needs to be sexed up a little bit more to make it worthwhile, and then rename it Lucky Bastard.
