Well, the fluff of the class is that they learn some secrets of the various Cataclysms that have occured and gain the abilities from their partial understanding. So, it's going to be based on sound knowledge.

That only means he has gotten something half right. Now which half, that is the question...

Another thing to consider is that forgeries, despite how clever they may appear, are always imperfect copies of an original. So... how might an imperfect (i.e., forged) Dragonmark effect the operation of the forge?

I'd look at this as a way to baloance out the creation of Dragonmarks - the players can reap some benefits from the forgeries, but they won't be exactly what the genuine articles would provide (and may, in fact, have some major drawbacks).

Maybe you could make a really high Use Magic Device check - each time you want to make a warforged.

I don't think you can use UMD to emulate a feat.
