Eberron: Forge of the Artificer Delayed Until December

A cover defect is to blame.

Eberron: Forge of the Artificer will now launch in December 2025 due to a cover defect. Wizards of the Coast announced that the upcoming Eberron: Forge of the Artificer rulebook is being delayed for several months after warping was discovered on the covers of published books. The entire original print run of the book is being recalled and reprinted ahead of its release, which means that the production process will be extended by several months.

As a result of the production delay, the book will now be released on December 9, 2025, with early access happening two weeks prior. To make up for the delay, both digital and physical customers who pre-ordered their books as a WPN store will receive an Eberron mini-adventure when they receive their book.

A similar delay took place in October 2023 when the Deck of Many Things product was recalled due to faulty product just two weeks before its initial release. That was re-released in January 2024.

So they're delaying the digital book for four months because of this? I can't say I'm happy about this: I wonder if the relative dearth of promotion for the book is because they were debating whether or not to delay the it
You don't screw every game store in the nation because gamers who game online want their stuff earlier. They're absolutely right to delay both releases.

I'm on board with delaying the physical book, but delaying the digital copy really sucks. I was all ready to go with a new Eberron campaign next month... Now I have no idea what I'm going to do.

Same. I'm contacting my players to desperately figure out if we're going to delay the start, run something else, or start with limited and crippled options.

Well, to be fair they don't want it earlier, they want it not four months late, particularly for no reason relating to the product they intended to purchase.

Maybe break out a mini-series campaign? More than a one-shot, but something only intended to last a few months with a special gimmick that would wear thin with a full campaign. You see stories of that sort of thing passed around. "We're all goblins!" or "We're all semi-retired high level adventurers!" or "We're all minions of the BBEG trying not to get Vadered!"

Could you imagine the "WotC is delaying the printed version to force us all to buy D&D Beyond" backlash?

I'm upset, but there was no way to give Digital a head start and not face criticism. They have to delay everything.
Isn't that what happened with the Deck of Many Things? While they released both, the print issues resulted in the digital one being the only one available for months

It's nice to see confirmation in the photos that this is going to be a hardcover. I know it will have a much lower page count than the typical D&D books but, at such a significant price reduction, I thought they might have been going with a cheaper softcover format.

It's strange that it took so long for the covers to warp. Maybe the water content of the paper used in the covers was too high and the warping occurred as it slowly dried.
