Eberron: Forge of the Artificer Delayed Until December

A cover defect is to blame.

Eberron: Forge of the Artificer will now launch in December 2025 due to a cover defect. Wizards of the Coast announced that the upcoming Eberron: Forge of the Artificer rulebook is being delayed for several months after warping was discovered on the covers of published books. The entire original print run of the book is being recalled and reprinted ahead of its release, which means that the production process will be extended by several months.

As a result of the production delay, the book will now be released on December 9, 2025, with early access happening two weeks prior. To make up for the delay, both digital and physical customers who pre-ordered their books as a WPN store will receive an Eberron mini-adventure when they receive their book.

A similar delay took place in October 2023 when the Deck of Many Things product was recalled due to faulty product just two weeks before its initial release. That was re-released in January 2024.

Have just had a quick look through on DDB. Bouncing off the art and graphic design pretty hard, so I'm hoping the actual content is good. All those black-and-white illustrations and chapter headings might look good in the physical book, but they don't look good on DDB.

I also don't like some of the implications from the art - there are numerous illustrations showing artificers creating warforged, which goes against established lore. They've also made the Emerald Claw soldiers look like Romans for some reason.

I don't like WAR's art style from the old Eberron books, but I liked the way warforged had a distinctive look, and I liked the distinctive look of Emerald Claw armor and the like. I don't like the changes they have made to those sorts of things in this book's art. I am hoping the content is not the same.

My book is sadly going to be delayed a few days. I'd been ordering from the small comic and game store downtown, support your FLGS and all. But they didn't tell me they were downsizing their game section and subcontracting their game orders with the big comic and game store in the next town over, instead of ordering directly. So now I have to wait a few days for it to pass through an additional pair of hands, and next time I'm probably going to cut out the middle man and just order from the big store so I can get the book on release day.

The free "we're sorry for the delay" adventure is now available on DDB as well. It's called "Fated Flight of the Recluse" and is for 3rd-level PCs. Looks like an adventure involving an airship.

Nice! When was the last time WotC set an Eberron adventure somewhere other than Sharn or the Mournlands?
3rd edition? Some of their 3.5e softcover adventures take place elsewhere (although they generally still begin in Sharn).

As far as I can tell, Fated Flight of the Recluse doesn't go anywhere near Sharn. It takes place on the diagonally opposite side of the continent!

EDIT: I have to say, this adventure reads like it was written using ChatGPT. Lots of "not only; but also" grammatical construction, plus lots of unusual words like "inhabitancy". (As someone who has to use ChatGPT a lot for work, I've learned to recognise the signs.)
