D&D (2024) Eberron - skycoaches and bastions

Sure, there would be a wide variety of sizes and models for different functions: taxis, buses, trucks etc. However, the rowboat sized vehicle in the art seems appropriate for a taxi. 40 ft. Is definitely bus or HGV sized though. A London Double Decker is 36 ft.
I agree with multiple types of skycoach for different functions, but I'd treat the one in question like a people carrier/MPV.

Yeah, I mean, the rowboat stats in GoS say it’s a 5x10 ft space. That’s two 5-ft squares. And yet it can hold 2 crew and 2 passengers! That means two people per 5-foot square.

In our modern world, a crowded commuter train can easily have 4–6 people per 5-foot square (at a guess).

That’s why I was thinking the mapped skycoach could probably fit about 24 people.

As for the lack of controls, I think it must be that the pilot attunes to the medallion and can then mentally control the skycoach’s movements. No wheel or other controls needed. No pilot house or anything like that either.

FYI: vehicle proficiency is no longer a thing in 2024.
Huh. I missed that! That said, I'm still using the 2014 rules as the base for my campaign with a smattering of 2024 bits introduced piecemeal as we go.
